Consolidated Minerals - Update on marketing and TMI

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 10 October 2014 Release date- 09102014 - Consolidated Minerals - Update on marketing and TMI.

During the Q2 bondholder results presentation in August the Company undertook to provide an update to bondholders following the termination of the off-take agreement with TMI.

The Company recently conducted a roadshow to reintroduce Ghana ore to EMM producers in southern China, who account for 80% of global EMM production. The engagement from these EMM producers was encouraging with meetings held with over thirty producers, who provided very positive feedback.

Aggregate responses indicated a total potential demand in excess of 2 million tonnes per annum in the medium-term (2016-2017). As a result we expect strong demand for Ghana ore in the EMM industry with sales picking up momentum starting from Q2/Q3 2015. We therefore currently expect conservative sales over the next nine months as plants transition to utilising Ghana ore in their feed stocks.

We have identified a number of larger EMM producers as potential key partners; they are keen and financially able to work with us to build Ghana's distribution network in the southern China EMM industry. Based on this feedback our Ghana growth ambitions remain in place and will be built around a more diverse customer base, which removes the risk of overexposure to any one customer.

Following our recent release concerning the legal position with TMI, we continue to pursue the arbitration proceedings in London.
