Nagaland governor’s wife to teach in ‘adopted’ school
Kohima: Kavita Acharya, wife of Nagaland governor PB Acharya, will work as a guest teacher in the Government Middle School (GMS), Kohima, which she has ‘adopted’.
She visited the school on Thursday.
Interacting with the teachers, Kavita encouraged them to work diligently and guide the students properly to help them become responsible citizens. She asked the teachers and the school management to approach her if they face any problem.
She later visited the classrooms and distributed sweets among students.
Kavita has completed her MA and B. Ed and is expected to take two classes every week. She has experience in teaching English, Hindi and mathematics at the middle-school level.
The school was established in 1947 and has 315 students and 19 teachers. The governor’s wife was accompanied by joint director of school education, Ruovihulie Angami, and chairman of D’Khel Village Education Committee (VEC), Zaputuo Khezhie.
Earlier in the day, officials and staff members of Kohima Raj Bhavan, led by the commissioner and secretary to the governor, TC Sangtam, wished the governor on his birthday. He turned 84 on Thursday.
