The district administration had ordered a probe into throwing of Aadhar cards in Pandu river.
On Wednesday, villagers of
Bingawan observed that scores of Aadhar card were lying on the bed of
the river and some were floating in the current. They took out a few of them and found that all belong to Harbansmohal locality and prepared in April 2014.
District magistrate
Roshan Jacob said the government was spending huge sums to establish the legal identity of citizens and scrupulous peoples were busy in thwarting that attempt.
Villagers had collected around 700 Aadhar cards from river. Strict action would be taken against those involved in it.
The cards were first noticed by Saurabh Yadav of the village. He saw several colourful papers floating in the river. When he took out some and read then, Yadav came to know that the papers were Aadhar cards of Harbansmohal locality. He and other villagers collected around 700 cards. The cards were in envelopes and there was
seal of post office.
It appears that cards were not delivered to recipients and thrown in the river. It was a crime against the nation.
