Kryvyi Rih, September 25, 2014. Paramjit Kahlon, has been appointed acting CEO of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, in a board of directors decision that took place on September 25, 2014. Mr. Artem Polyakov had held the post of CEO since March 2012, and has decided to leave ArcelorMittal.

Paramjit Kahlon, previously chief operating officer (COO) at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, has 21 years' experience in the steel industry. Before working as COO, he was deputy CEO (operations) of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. Before being appointed to this position he was chief technology officer and general manager for the projects and strategy of the plant (2008-2010).

Paramjit Kahlon started his career at SMS Siemag (formerly known as Mannesmann Demag) in 1995 as project manager at one of the largest steel technology innovators and equipment suppliers worldwide. At the end of 2001 he moved to Danieli & C, Buttrio, Italy, where he was responsible for managing the installation and start-up of turnkey steel projects worldwide. He has installed and started-up many strategic steel projects for major steel producers in India, China, Taiwan, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Russia, over the course of a decade.

He is a mechanical engineer, a graduate of Haryana State Institute of Engineering in India and holds an Executive Degree in Metallurgy along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Computer Engineering.
