There are fun elements here and there, but Aniket Chattopadhyay's Tuski, shooting of which began on October 6, is far from a comedy .
The director has juxtaposed two parallel pictures of our society, reflecting on the growing divide between rich and poor. While Tuski lives in a slum and has her auto driver father and domestic help aunt to take care of her, living in a highrise, opposite their house, is Tua. She is born to rich parents and has an obsessive mother indulging her all the time. Aniket has roped in slum dwellers to play real characters. A major part of the film will be shot in a south Kolkata slum.

For Aniket, who is known for light, fun flicks, Tuski is a great departure. Talking about his decision to make a serious movie, the director said, My political commitment doesn't allow me to make comedies all the time. I wanted to deal with the disparity in our society and came up with this movie."
