Bedding introductions in High Point

At the upcoming High Point Market, look for several key trends in bedding product introductions.

Key Trends

STEP UP STORIES: Producers are offering lines with clear stepup selling stories to help retailers boost their sales tickets.

ASCENDING ACCESSORIES: Sleep accessories remain a hot commodity these days, and producers are expanding their assortments to give retailers plenty of choices.

GOING FOR GEL MEMORY FOAM: Gel memory foam remains popular on retail sales floors and producers are introducing new models to keep that category going strong.

BEDGEAR

PS 1-500

Company opens its first permanent High Point showroom, showing its line of sleep accessories and offering space for meetings with its dealers.

BOYD SPECIALTY SLEEP

IHFC W-642

Showing a number of sleep products under the licensed Broyhill brand, including Broyhill Cube and Broyhill 02, in addition to an adjustable Broyhill wedge pillow.

The three-model Broyhill Cube line now features a new zippered layer that incorporates both an updated blue/white knit cover and a comfort layer made of vented memory foam. The new, more practical design means consumers need only unzip a single layer to customize the interior cubes on their side of the bed.

Each Cube bed has 12 to 18 separate cubes or chambers (six or nine on each side). Each cube is two-sided, offering the sleeper a different comfort/support feel using different materials. Sleepers also can rearrange the order of the cubes from head to toe on their side to achieve their ideal feel.

The top Broyhill Cube model features chambers of both foam and air. Each chamber has an air valve that, when open, “breathes” air in and out, providing the sleeper with a unique floating sensation, officials said.

All Cube beds also now feature a decorative mesh material on the perimeter of each mattress, lending a modern, athletic look to the line, the company said.

Boyd is also displaying its three-model Broyhill O2 line, which is aimed at consumers 45 and under. The collection uses resilient, gel-infused engineered latex and features Celiant fibers to activate oxygenation and increase blood flow, the company said.

Set to retail at $49.99, Boyd’s Broyhill adjustable wedge pillow is made of gel memory foam and dense poly foam. Two black metal beds (each $249 in queen), represent the latest designs in the company’s extensive platform collection.

Features include zoned wrapped coil units, gel-visco lumbar support zones, CoolTex Gel-Infused Latex, and the addition of decorative handles starting at $799.

The four models in the “best” offering incorporate new zoned, wrapped coil units with steel coil encasement, which is used in place of traditional foam encasement, thereby extending the life of the mattress and providing superior edge support, the company says.
