Nellore: Minister for municipal administration, Dr P. Narayana, has been causing sleepless nights to the officials and staff alike with surprise visits during midnights and early hours of the day. He is ensuring that the sanitary workers and inspectors are on their toes through his unannounced visits.The minister hit the road at 5 am and noticed the situation related to sanitary condition, streetlights and status of various parks in the city.
He elicited information from public on water supply and attendance of municipal sanitary workers and their working style.He expressed dissatisfaction over the situation at Gandhi Nagar Park in 31st division. He told the municipal commissioner to change the face of the park in 20 days.
He had also ordered the commissioner to erect tree guards to all the plants and install solar panels for the lighting in the park during nights.The minister was visibly angry when he received complaints from the locals over anti-social elements using the high school premises in Gandhi Nagar. He directed the 5th town police inspector to take strict measures to prevent it.
He told him that he should not receive such complaints in future while pointing to his plans to visit the place once again in 10 days to check with the locals on the situation.
Taking strong objection to leakage of water from municipal taps in various streets in 31st division, he asked the officials to arrest the leakages immediately.
