Jason McAteer, Alf-Inge Haaland and others have been tweeting about the Roy Keane book

Roy Keane clashes with Jason McAteer during his playing days

Most current and former players have been silent on the revelations contained within Roy Keane's new autobiography but a few have made their views known on social media.

Former Southampton striker Egil Ostenstad asked former international team mate Alf-Inge Haaland what he thought about Roy Keane's lack of remorse for the tackle that ended his career.

Haaland tweeted the message: @Egilostenstad cant take a man seriously when hes got a beard like.... (alongside an image of a captured Saddam Hussein)."

He later deleted the post.

Keane's former Ireland team mate has also had his say tweeting: "For someone who don't like the limelight Roy certainly knows were the the light switch is !!."

The pair fell out when McAteer criticised the then Irish captain’s infamous exit from the 2002 World Cup.

They clashed again when the ex-Man United captain broke Jason's nose during a game with club Sunderland.
