Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) organised a felicitation function for the Indian medal winners from the 2014 Asian Games here on Monday. Thirteen of these achievers across different disciplines at Incheon were supported by OGQ.

Ace marksman Jitu Rai received a standing ovation for winning the 50m free pistol individual gold and the 10m air rifle team bronze.

Others honoured by newly-appointed OGQ brand ambassador Saif Ali Khan were shooters Shweta Choudhary (10m air pistol individual bronze), Prakash Nanjappa (10m air pistol team bronze),

Sanjeev Rajput (10m air rifle team bronze), Heena Sidhu and Rahi Sarnobat (both 25m sports pistol team bronze).

OGQ co-founder Prakash Padukone used the occasion to remind everyone about the task ahead.

“All of us need to remember that our goal is to win an Olympic Games gold medal. It remains our mission,” said the badminton icon.

Ace cueist and multiple world billiards champion Geet Sethi, another co-founder, pointed out that Olympics champions have the power to infuse pride in a nation.

“It gives me great pleasure to point out that other than the President of India, only Olympic gold medallists have the power to raise the Indian national flag in a foreign land, accompanied by the national anthem.” Saif Ali Khan said,

“I pledge Rs. 20 lakh each year up to Rio Olympics as my individual contribution and will also work towards fund-raising dinners and shows for Rio and beyond,” said the actor, son of late Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi.

Former hockey Olympian Viren Rasquinha, CEO, said, “world-class athletes need world-class support behind the scenes and that is what our team aims to provide.”
