South African woman molested in Navi Mumbai

A 48-year-old resident of South Africa, Shakila Danshir Chinnaswamy, was molested by two - Kush Agnihotri from Navi Mumbai and Shailesh Patil from Kalyan - in their thirties.

Kush is a professional choreographer and organises local events whereas Shailesh is a farmer. Kush met the victim a few months back on Facebook and both started chatting about their work.

The survivor had come to Navi Mumbai a fortnight back and started staying with Kush. However, they got into an argument, after which the survivor decided to shift to a Kalyan-based hotel.

On the evening of October 5, the accused also accompanied the woman to the hotel. On entering the room, the accused switched off the lights, locked the door and touched her inappropriately. When the victim cried out for help, the accused fled the spot.

A police officer from Mahatma Phule police station, said, "During her stay with Kush at his resident in Navi Mumbai, he has withdraw about Rs34,000 from survivor's account. The accused had told the survivor that they will help her open a business in the area. The survivor, who is married and visited Kush on business purpose, owns petrol pump and has a garage in South Africa".
