A 61-year-old man was injured after he tried to foil a robbery bid at his home near Greater Kailash-I on Sunday afternoon.

NEW DELHI: A 61-year-old man was injured after he tried to foil a robbery bid at his home near Greater Kailash-I on Sunday afternoon.
Raj Narayan, who was hit on the head and shoulder, is recuperating at a private hospital.
The incident took place around 2.15pm while Narayan, a businessman, was sleeping at his ground floor house in Zamrudpur. He told police that someone broke a window next to the main entrance of the house and tried to unlock the door.
However, Narayan caught the burglar's hand and called his son, Chanderjeet, for help. When they tried questioning the man, he picked up a wooden stick kept nearby and hit Narayan and fled.
Narayan, who is survived by his son, was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre and later shifted to a private hospital where he is recovering from his injuries, police said.
A case under section 379 (theft) and 323 (causing hurt) of the IPC has been registered.
