NCYI winners

The second year PGDM students’ team from Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore, was declared the national champions in the 11th National Competition for Young India (NCYI), hosted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in New Delhi. A jury evaluated the students on their leadership, managerial, analytical and presentation skills on the theme of the competition ‘Innovative Youth Driving The Nation’s Growth – Role Of Young Entrepreneurship In India’.

Freshers’ Day

SSR College’s management, faculty and final year students organised the Freshers’ Day programme for the new batches of BBM, BCom and BCA students. Raghu S., Chairman, Hemalatha, Secretary, Somashekar R., Director, and Amaresha M., Principal, participated.

Road show

M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), jointly with the manufacturing panel of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), organised a road show to promote manufacturing engineering as a profession for graduating engineers of mechanical engineering and industrial engineering and management programmes from both MSRIT and other engineering colleges.

The event was launched by Mohan Babu G.N., officer to liaison between MSRIT and CII. Ashok Rao, Convener, CII Manufacturing Panel, stressed on how young graduating engineers can contribute to the economic growth of the country in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Make in India.”

The institute’s Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) laboratory was also launched.

Industrial visit

Nearly 30 students of B.A. Journalism, CMR University, visited the printing press of The Hindu in Bommanahalli, Bangalore, as part of an industrial visit. They were provided an opportunity to see the machinery and the technology involved in the making of the daily newspaper at the press.

Career Utsav

‘Career Utsav 2014’ is scheduled to be held on December 6 and 7 at the NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bangalore, and on December 20 and 21 at the T.M.A. Pai Convention Hall, Mangalore, to create awareness about the various career options available for students after Class 12.

The event is being organised by Fuel India and K2 Learning.

This is the third edition of Career Utsav, which will host an arena of workshops and conferences to present and showcase the variety of options offered by the participating colleges and universities. As many as14 different detailed workshops will be conducted on engineering, law, medicine, design, fashion design, animation, etc.
