Harmony wins Saeima elections in Latvia

After 98% of votes counted, Harmony is in the lead with 23.26% of the vote, however, the ruling coalition – Unity, Greens and Farmers' Union, and All For Latvia-For Fatherland And Freedom/LNNK (VL-TB/LNNK) – still has the most votes, according to data published by the Central Election Commission.

Currently, ballots in 1,000 polling-stations in Latvia and abroad are already counted. A total of 912,050 eligible voters participated in the 12th Saeima elections, reports LETA.

 

So far, Harmony has received a total of 23,26% of the vote, followed by Unity – 21.62%, Greens/Farmers – 19.74%, VL-TB/LNNK – 16.5%, For Latvia From the Heart – 6.91%, Latvia's Regional Alliance – 6.47%.

 

Harmony has won 25 seats in the new parliament, Unity – 23, Greens/Farmers – 21, VL-TB/LNNK – 17, For Latvia From the Heart, and Latvia's Regional Alliance – 7 seats each.

 

After 98% of votes counted, the provisional 12th Saeima makeup has already been drawn up.

 

According to provisional results for the 12th Saeima elections, Harmony has won 25 seats in the new parliament, Unity – 23, Greens/Farmers – 21, VL-TB/LNNK – 17, For Latvia From the Heart, and Latvia's Regional Alliance – 7 seats each.

 

Harmony could be represented by Janis Urbanovics, Andrejs Klementjevs, Boriss Cilevics, Sergejs Mirskis, Ivans Klementjevs, Arturs Rubiks, Sergejs Potapkins, Igors Pimenovs, Nikita Nikiforovs, Mihails Zemlinskis, Igors Zujevs from Riga election district, Sergejs Dolgopolovs, Janis Adamsons, Ivars Zarins – from Vidzeme election district, Vitalijs Orlovs, Zenta Tretjaka – from Zemgale election district, Andrejs Elksnins, Ivans Ribakovs – from Latgale election district, and Valerijs Agesins – from Kurzeme election district.

 

Unity could be represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkevics, Minister of Interior Rihards Kozlovskis, deputies Andrejs Judins, Ojars Eriks Kalnins, Aleksejs Loskutovs, Ilze Vinkele, Lolita Cigane from the Riga election district, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma, Mayor of Valmiera Inesis Bokis, and former MEP Karlis Sadurskis – from Vidzeme election district.

 

Greens and Farmers' Union could be represented by Guntis Belevics, Valdis Kalnozols, Saeima deputy Karlis Serzants from Riga election district, Agriculture Minister Janis Duklavs, and deputy Ingmars Lidaka – from Vidzeme election district.

 

All For Latvia-For Fatherland And Freedom/LNNK (VL-TB/LNNK) could be represented by Culture Minister Dace Melbarde, deputies Einars Cilinskis, Dzintars Rasnacs, Ilmars Latkovskis, Inguna Ribena from Riga election district, the party's leader Raivis Dzintars, deputies Janis Dombrava, and Inara Murniece – from Vidzeme election district.
