20-year-old woman raped by father

COIMBATORE: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father, two days ago at Pallapalayam village near Sulur on the outskirts of the city, following which the man was arrested by the police on Thursday and was sent to Coimbatore Central Prison. The accused, C Ramaiah, 48, was a daily wage labourer and a native of Tenkasi in Tirunelveli district.
Ramaiah moved to a rented house at Pallapalayam village three months back after his elder daughter's wedding and was living with his wife and younger daughter.On October 1, when his wife was away and the victim was alone at home, Ramaiah had sexually assaulted and raped his younger daughter.
According to the police, the girl was talking to her boyfriend over phone and her father objected to it. When she did not pay any heed to him, the man raped her . The victim told her mother about the incident and they immediately lodged a complaint with the police. The accused was arrested and the victim was sent to a city hospital for medical test.
