Barara(Ambala): Living up to its tradition of assembling together "world's tallest" Ravana effigy year after year, Barara residents this year raised its height to 200 feet.
Since 1986, the organizers have been raising the height of effigy every year and on Friday registered four-time rare entry in Limca Book of Records. Interestingly, this rare effigy, which weighed 65 quintal this year, cost the organizers around Rs 26 lakh.
The total amount spent on the five-day event has come around Rs 80 lakh this year.
The funds are not pooled in. Instead, the bill is footed by local landlord Tejender Chauhan every year while his Muslim friend Tanveer Jafri handles event management.
