A 30-year-old jeweller was killed while talking on a phone that was plugged into a charger in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh.

BHOPAL: A 30-year-old jeweller was killed while talking on a phone that was plugged into a charger in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. Battery of his mobile also exploded.
Police believe charger was a faulty one which released a sudden, high-voltage, electrical burst.
Deceased Ritesh Soni, got electrocuted as soon as he accepted the call on his phone while it was connected to a charger on Wednesday night.

He was referred to district hospital in Shivpuri where he was declared brought dead by doctors, said sources.
Soni was survived by his wife and two daughters. His mother died of cancer last month. Family members told police that Ritesh received a call on his cell phone at 9.30 pm. Medical officers who examined him said that he died of electrocution.
When contacted station house officer (SHO) of Kotwali police station K L Rathore said that he was sitting on metal cot. "His mobile phone was plugged on to some cheap USB charger when he was attending the call," said the officer.
The incident has been called a "wake-up call" by authorities who warned against the use of mobile phone on charger, citing they pose a serious risk of electrocution.
