This Couple Drive Around With A Life-Sized Doll Of Cliff Richard

Not at all creepy. Via the Norwich Evening News.

Jill Stolworthy and her husband, David, from Old Costessey in Norfolk, have a companion that joins them on car journeys.

It just so happens that their companion is a life-sized and disturbingly realistic doll of Sir Cliff Richard wearing a Norwich City scarf.

Jill is big fan of Sir Cliff and has 22 of his CDs and "some DVDs".

She says: "One of the old 45s we have got in the loft is from when he was in the Drifters [later renamed the Shadows]... I saw him when he came to the theatre in Norwich in 1959 – I remember queueing up to get tickets and he was just fantastic that night."

We got the head because we like Cliff Richard, Jill especially is a big fan, and it just escalated from there. We thought he would be useful for when Jill is driving on her own, especially at night, so it looks like there is a male passenger.

The couple say that plenty of people give them a double take when they are driving around with "Sir Cliff".

David told the Norwich Evening News: "We recently caught the Dover to Dunkirk ferry service to go to Germany – and not once during the inspection by customs and immigration staff in either country was he spotted or commented on!"

We thought he would be useful for when Jill is driving on her own, especially at night, so it looks like there is a male passenger.

And you can see why he would make you feel a little less lonely.

Just a life-sized doll of Sir Cliff Richard.

Sat next to you in the car.
