Egyptian President Appoints Ayman Wahab to Highest Advisory Panel


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- The Special Olympics issued the following news release Solving Social Problems Mr. Wahab will serve as Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's Community Development Expert. Mr. Wahab is Regional President and Managing Director of Special Olympics Middle East/North Africa.



Egypt's Community Development Board is composed of specialized scholars, professors, experts and youth leaders in different social and community realms, ranging from architecture and urban development, literature and social sciences, education and journalism. The board works to solve negative social phenomena in Egypt, such as homelessness among children and harassment issues.

Working Together in a Tough Period The panel will also work on changing extremist ideologies and focus instead on reviving the moderate religious dialogue and ideologies. In addition, board members look to solutions involving preventive medicine and wellness. President el-Sisi stressed the importance of this panel's work especially during the tough period the region is undergoing. He says each member's role is essential in maintaining and enhancing the community by working on a collective strategic plan that highlights and sets the priorities and the best methods to implement them. Board members will creatively plan on ways to fund their strategic vision.


"I am proud that my journey with the Special Olympics movement has led me to this honorable position," said Mr. Wahab, who has been a leader with Special Olympics for 16 years. "In Special Olympics, we work together and bring all people together for a greater good. I hope that this advisory board can achieve similar success."
