Marines unhurt by Narathiwat bomb

Eight marines on a motorcycle patrol guarding teachers escaped unhurt when a bomb exploded on a road in Narathiwat's Yingo district on Thursday morning, police said.

The attack occurred about 7am. A home-made bomb hidden in a garbage can exploded as the eight marines on four motorcycles patrolling along the Yingo - Rueso road near Ton Tan village in tambon Jobae.

The bomb was remotely detonated as the patrol passing by the bin.

The marines all emerged unscathed.
