Acclaimed vocalist Tony DeSare returns to 54 Below with a brand new show: Night Life. The postmodern version of the classic, elegant New York night club of the 1950's show will be brought to life in the only New York City night club left that still truly captures that ambiance. Tony DeSare's new show will explore some of the most hauntingly beautiful and memorable melodies ever written, both old and new, plus a few new DeSare originals. From Cole Porter and Duke Ellington to Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Willie Nelson, the only requirement is a sophisticated, romantic and swinging melody. Add in a martini or two and you have the quintessential night out on the town. Featuring Tony's quartet led by Tedd Firth on piano with Edward Decker on guitar, Steve Doyle on bass and Michael Klopp on drums. Although the following songs are subject to change, they represent the type of material Tony will be performing: "To Make You Feel My Love" (Bob Dylan), a song covered by Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, and Adele, is interpreted here by Tony for Night Life in a true romantic 'DeSare' mood. Nightclubs have been swinging Cole Porter songs as soon as the ink was dry on them, and "It's All Right With Me" has remained a fresh and exciting choice for over 6 decades. It may come as a surprise to the audience that the title song of this evening - "Night Life," was one of songwriter Willie Nelson's earliest hits. It has since become a jazz standard - and the anchor for this evening's set list. Other selections will include American Songbook tunes written by Henry Mancini and Leslie Bricusse; Leon Russell; and Billy Strayhorn. In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning - a Sinatra classic written by David Mann and Bob Hilliard, captures the 'noir' mood ever present in the clubs of an earlier time. It is also a perfect entr'acte salute to what is nearly the beginning of the Chairman's 100th birthday year celebration - which Tony is anticipating with great enthusiasm. Former US President Bill Clinton called Igor Butman, "my favorite living saxophone player!" Now Igor returns to 54 Below, after his sold-out engagement last fall. Butman is renowned the world over as a supremely gifted jazz virtuoso, composer and arranger, band leader, impresario, and club owner. Playing alongside him is the Moscow State Jazz Orchestra (aka Igor Butman Big Band), a swinging and lyrical band in the tradition of the Duke Ellington and Count Basie Big Bands. Challenged by the traditional images of women in the music industry, they bravely explored territory outside the accepted confines of popular music. These prolific singer-songwriters paved the way for women in music, art and life. Back to the Garden pays tribute to these women, their influence and inspiration. THE SKIVVIES

This "musically thrilling" undie-rock, comedy-pop duo don't just strip down their musical arrangements, they literally strip down to their underwear to perform their distinctive mashups and eccentric originals for cello and ukulele, with touches of glockenspiel, melodica, and a surprising array of under-used instruments. Award-winning singer-actors Lauren Molina (Marry Me a Little, Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages) and Nick Cearley (Pageant, All Shook Up) became YouTube sensations as The Skivvies, with living room videos that displayed their powerful harmonies as well as their powerful abs. Those clips led to live shows that The Wall Street Journal called "smart, sophisticated...ingenious," and Out Magazine, "The Skivvies have managed to carve out a niche that we never knew needed to exist: part Weird Al- parody and part sexy burlesque...an unusual explosion of satire and sultry." Pamela Bob, of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, performs in a theatrical evening featuring the unusual and dynamic songs of Ellen Mandel and Michael Lydon, from jazzy ballads to lyrical settings of modern poetry, with a bit of bluesy funk for good measure. With Ellen Mandel on piano, Michael Lydon on guitar, and Pamela on vocals and ukulele, the group has performed several times downtown in NYC at the Cornelia Street Cafe, and on the New Gallery Concert Series in Boston. The performance will be directed by DJ Salisbury. Ellen Mandel has composed music for over sixty plays for the Mint, Jean Cocteau Rep, Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, and Riverside Shakespeare in New York, and many regionals. She has written five film scores, and recorded four CDs of her "ardent, spiky, and freshly organic songs", according to the New York Times. Michael Lydon, a pioneering rock writer and founding editor of Rolling Stone Magazine, interviewed Janis Joplin, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, B.B. King, and wrote Ray Charles: Man and Music, the definitive biography of the Genius. He is an East Village songwriter, whose forte is writing delicious jazzy tunes that inspire comparisons to classics from the American Songbook.

Amanda McBroom - American international cabaret performer and writer of the hit song, "The Rose," and her husband, multi-award winning musical theater lion George Ball - present the New York debut of their show, Some Enchanted Evening - Love Songs for Grownups. Some Enchanted Evening takes a deep dive into love with humor and feeling, through songs by such illustrious songwriters as Cole Porter, Jacques Brel, Kurt Weill, Stephen Sondheim, and of course, McBroom herself. The couple met doingJacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and starred in the original off-Broadway production. They have appeared together in Sweeney Todd and other shows in New York, Los Angeles, regionally and internationally. McBroom is a Golden Globe winner lauded for her talent for writing exceptional songs that are witty and profound and flush with feelings. Never over-the-top, her work seethes with a passion that is artfully funneled into music and lyrics revealed so well in her two most popular songs, "The Rose" (from the Bette Midler film of the same name) and "Errol Flynn," which McBroom wrote about her father, the actor David Bruce who worked with Flynn and Gary Cooper. McBroom's songs have been recorded by Leanne Rimes, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Barbara Cook, Anne Murray, Harry Belafonte, Betty Buckley, Stephanie Mills and The Manhattan Transfer, among others. Featuring an all-star cast of Broadway & cabaret luminaries to be announced... Frank Sinatra is the most beloved and admired singer of our lifetime. He sold 150 million records and won 11 Grammy Awards, but that hardly begins to tell his story. 54 Below will honor Francis Albert Sinatra with an extraordinary evening of his most famous hits from throughout his career. The concert will offer Sinatra's early songs like "All or Nothing at All" and "I'll Never Smile Again," mid-career hits like "In the Wee Small Hours" and "Come Fly With Me," and from there to the classic years with songs like "It Was a Very Good Year," "Strangers in the Night," and "That's Life." Fascinating and little-known Sinatra anecdotes will pepper the evening, but the show will ultimately be all about the music, highlighting his greatest hits. Back by popular demand! Margo Seibert is, according to USA Today, "a Broadway newcomer with a delicately compelling presence and a throbbing, textured singing voice that lets us hear the character coming out of her shell." This season, she has made her debut on the Great White Way singing the music of Ahrens & Flaherty in ROCKY as well as giving a tour-de-force (and Drama Desk-nominated) performance in the original musical, Tamar of the River. For Margo, this has been a season of rapid growth and discovery. Across the board, she has been recognized for her depth of character and nuanced vocal performance. Actor and singer Dominic Chianese, known mostly for his starring role as Corrado "Junior" Soprano in HBO's The Sopranos, and for his role as Johnny Ola in The Godfather II, makes his 54 Below debut! Dominic has lived in New York City all his life, and worked in theatre- Broadway (The Rose Tattoo, Requiem for a Heavyweight), Off Broadway (Still Life, Much Ado About Nothing at the Delacorte) and in regional theatres all over the country. Since 1952 when he toured with the America Savoyards Gilbert and Sullivan company, Dominic has been regaling with song as well.
