Bouyed by the Asian Games bronze medal by archer Paul Marton Dela Cruz, the Philippine Archers National Network and Alliance (Panna) has announced tryouts for the national team for international competitions next year including the world championships.

Panna president Federico Moreno said Panna hopes to send eight men and eight women for the compound and recurve teams in the 2015 World slated late next year in Netherlands.

But they will be holding early tryouts starting this month to determine the composition of the PH squads.

Moreno, whose son Gabriel teamed up with a female Chinese to win the country’s its first ever gold in the recent Youth Olympic Games in Nanjian, said they are hoping the recent success of the sports will further the growth of archery in the country.

Next year’s busy schedule will include the Asian Grand Prix, Archery World Cup, Southeast Asian Games and the Worlds.
