Cable-network Fusion will take a few hints from Jay Z.

The news-and-culture network has acquired a series of half-hour “Jay Z’s Life+Times Presents” specials. Launched by RocNation and IconicTV, the programming hub delivers content curated by Shawn “Jay Z” Carter that spans the worlds of art, sports, music, fashion and culture. Fusion will air episodes from the “Where I’m From” series and intends to expand its offerings.

Fusion is owned jointly by Univision and Disney’s ABC News.

“Jay Z’s Life+Times content is a natural fit for Fusion’s millennial audience,” said Fusion CEO Isaac Lee in a prepared statement. “This series will give our viewers intimate access to the cultural tastemakers that reflect this generation’s diverse interests and passions.”

“Where I’m From” is a documentary series that takes viewers  into the lives of well-known athletes and entertainers, from Jay Z to Hakeem Nicks and Robinson Cano, to explore the life events that took them to the top of their game. The premiere date for “Jay Z’s Life+Times Presents” on Fusion will be announced at a later time, the network said.
