News in brief: New Judge in Gujarat High Court, Gujarat govt declares 7% hike in DA

-Vipul Manubhai Pancholi today took oath as Additional Judge of Gujarat High Court. Acting Chief Justice VM Sahai administered oath of office and secrecy in presence of Judges, lawyers and family members of Vipul Pancholi.
-Gujarat government’s 4 lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners have been granted benefit of 7% rise in dearness allowance ahead of Diwali with effect from 1st July this year.
-As two candidates withdrew their nominations on the last day of withdrawal of forms today(1st October), there are now 9 candidates left for Rajkot West assembly bypoll which is scheduled to take place on 15 October.
-Pravin Patel has become new Chairman of standing committee in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
