On the opening day of the Salon Privé classic and super-car meeting in London last week, Morgan Motor Co unveiled the first one-off commission produced by its new Special Products division.
The vehicle, known as the SP1, is based on the 2009 Morgan LifeCar concept; it features bespoke and hand-formed aluminium body panels.
Under instruction from the customer who commissioned the vehicle, Morgan has used ash wood and African bubinga red hardwood for the frame.
The car also has aniline leather upholstery, an iPad-based ‘info-tainment’ system and a series of roof-mounted toggle switches.
Performance specifications were not revealed, but Morgan said that the car is powered by a Ford-sourced 3.7-litre V6 engine (as used by the Morgan Roadstar) that has been equipped with a sports exhaust system and a new engine management system.
