Charlton boss Bob Peeters revealed his team talk was already written for him at Norwich on Tuesday night after a local newspaper predicted a heavy defeat for his side.
The unbeaten Addicks had clearly not read the script, and a late strike by captain Johnnie Jackson sank high-flying City 1-0.
Afterwards Peeters said: "Norwich are a top team but I showed my players a local newspaper that had a prediction for them to win 3-0.
"I said if we stick with the game plan, press them in midfield and close the angles then they are going to struggle.
"I said at half-time that they would get tired, the crowd would get frustrated because they couldn't handle our game plan and at the end we knew the spaces would get bigger and if we get one or two chances then we need to punish them."
