HUBLI : To mark Gandhi Jayanti, Sri Dharmasthala Gramabhivruddhi Yojane (SDGY), in association with Akhila Karnataka Jilla Janajagruti Vedike, will organize awareness campaign on the ill effects of addiction to tobacco and liquor, on October 2.
Dinesh M, secretary of Janajagruti Vedike, told reporters here on Tuesday that a rally will be inaugurated by mayor Shivu Hiremath at Kalabhavan in Dharwad at 10.30am.

A function will be taken later at Ulavi Chennabasaveshwar temple to felicitate about 300 people who have quit drinking. Litterateur V C Irsang will inaugurate the function in the presence of MLA Arvind Bellad, Vinay Kulkarni and N H Konreddi.
Dinesh said that similar awareness campaigns will be organized in 25 districts in the state. The SDGY has been organizing de-addiction camps.
