Punjab Under-19 team beat Vidarbha Under-19 boys to win the Late J Y Lele Under-19 All India Invitation One Day Cricket Tournament here on Monday.Vidarbha scored 240 runs in 48.3 overs for the loss of 10 wickets.

VADODARA : Punjab Under-19 team beat Vidarbha Under-19 boys to win the Late J Y Lele Under-19 All India Invitation One Day Cricket Tournament here on Monday. Vidarbha scored 240 runs in 48.3 overs for the loss of 10 wickets. Opener M Eklak scored 56 runs while V Palandurkar, who comes down the order, scored 63 runs off 72 balls to take Vidarbha to a good total.
Punjab that has been performing consistently throughout the tournament reached the target in 43.4 overs for the loss of three wickets.
Punjab openers Karan Sharma and Sanvir Singh made 99 runs for first wicket. Sharma scored 59 runs off 57 balls while Singh scored a century off 90 balls.
A prize distribution ceremony was held at Motibaug Ground wherein Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) president Samarjitsinh Gaekwad gave away prizes to the winning team and players. The tournament was organized in the memory of former Band BCA secretary Jaywant Lele who passed away last year.
