The ‘Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru’ programme will take off on October 2 with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself reaching out to the masses to know their problems and take necessary remedial action.
A battery of IAS officers will personally supervise the programme which is aimed at improving the living conditions of people by basically tackling poverty and other micro and macro issues faced by the State post-bifurcation.
Addressing district collectors through video-conference on Tuesday, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said the revised pension scheme named as ‘NTR Bharosa’ was his first step in the war against poverty. It would be initially paid in cash and subsequently credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries.
He was committed to all-round development through a holistic approach to upgrade physical and social infrastructure which were crucial to achieving economic growth.
The government was bracing for the 24X7 power supply which was one of its main election promises and it duly prioritized completion of irrigation projects.
Similarly, emphasis was laid on integrating information technology in the development process.
Mr. Naidu exhorted the officers as also people to work together to overcome the hurdles that bifurcation had created for A.P and observed that some government departments have already done commendable job towards that goal.
‘Neeru-Chettu’, he said, would mitigate the impact of deficient rainfall on agriculture and power sectors at a time when the State is saddled with severe financial constraints. ‘Polam Pilusthondi’ and various other programmes were taken for taking the State forward, Mr. Naidu added.
The Chief Minister will launch ‘Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru’ programme from Vijayawada with a rally from Singh Nagar to Pipula Road, where he will address the public.
He instructed the Krishna district Collector M. Raghunandan Rao to make foolproof arrangements for making the programme a grand success.
