Motorcycle rider dies after crash into terrasse on St-Denis

A 28-year-old died overnight after crashing his motorcycle into a terrasse in the heart of Montreal’s Latin Quarter.

He was travelling with a second motorcyclist on Saint Denis Street between de Maisonneuve Boulevard and Ontario Street when he lost control and hit the wood structure.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition, but later died of his injuries.

Police said it does not appear speeding or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Officers met with the second motorcyclist shortly after the crash.

They said the incident seems to be have been an accident.
