TIKA signs cooperation agreement with Mexico

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency signed a cooperation agreement with Mexican International Development Cooperation Agency on Tuesday.

TIKA signs cooperation agreement with Mexico

ANKARA 

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday.

"We will share our experiences especially in dealing with third world countries and also will benefit from experiences of Mexico" Serdar Cam, head of Turkey's TIKA said after the deal was signed in Ankara.

Juan Manuel Valle Perena, head of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation also said Mexico wants to develop economic relations with Turkey.

"TIKA serves as an example for us. We want to do projects together. We believe that there are some things we can learn from each other to do projects not only in our own region but also in Africa, Central Asia and Latin America" he said.

Mexican Ambassador to Turkey Martha Elena Barcena also attended the signing ceremony.

Established in 1992, Turkey's government-run TIKA agency is responsible for implementing Turkey's developmental cooperation policies overseas.

TIKA offers aid to 49 countries around the world such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, Myanmar and Yemen.
