“We would not be requiring anymore machines as of now. However, the final tally will give us a clearer picture and we would be allocating the number of control units and ballot units for each constituency according to the number of candidates,’’ said District Collector Saurabh Rao.

The collector said, “As of now there are no critical booths. On the sensitive booths issue, with all the political parties going alone and with the number of candidates increasing because of this changed equation, they would have to assess all booths to take a call. In the Lok Sabha elections there were over 120 polling stations that were listed in the critical category but with the list being huge his elections the numbers would change, said the officials.
While the scrutiny of forms are on for the 21 Assembly constituencies the maximum nominations were filed from Indapur followed by Bhosari, Vadaonsheri, Khed Alandi and Hadapsar.

After the final candidates are decided after October 1, the district administration is expected to have a meeting of all the police officials, returning officers and election observers. In addition to that additional security will be provided and video cameras too will be placed at these booths.
