Pradeep Sharma arrested in Gandhinagar in corruption case

Suspended IAS officer Pradeep Sharma was arrested from his Ahmedabad residence today in connection with corruption charges in a land given to a private company in Kutch where in his wife has also been a partner.
Sharma, is facing total of five corruption cases against him that belong to the time when he was Collector in Kutch post 2001 earthquake.
He was picked up by Anti Corruption Bureau team from his mother’s house in Ahmedabad around 2.30 am and was kept in house arrest at his Gandhinagar residence.
Sharma, alleged that he had been manipulated by former Additional Chief Secretary P Pannervel, whose wife is 50 per cent partner in the company named Value Packaging.
Sharma was earlier arrested in 2010 from his official residence as Bhavnagar Municipal Commissioner, was released in 2013 on bail.
Yesterday, Enforcement Directorate had attached Sharma’s Rs. 1 crore property in Gujarat in corruption case.
