"The incident occurred around 7.10 am on Monday when Ishwar opened the door of his home for car cleaner Ravi. Ishwar was then informed by Ravi that a window of the car was broken. When Ishwar stepped outside, Mahesh, who was hiding, ambushed from behind and stabbed around five times," a police officer told Mail Today. The CCTV footage showed that Ishwar tried to run away, but Mahesh followed him and stabbed him indiscriminately even as the victim collapsed. Mahesh later escaped.

Ishwar's family members rushed him to Ganga Ram Hospital where doctors declared him as 'brought dead'. "After registering the FIR, police scanned the CCTV footage and identified the accused. With the help of technical surveillances, police nabbed him and also came to know that his car had met with an accident outside Liberty Cinema at DBG Road from where he was arrested. We found the car and recovered empty liquor bottles as well," the police officer said, adding Mahesh told the police that he often had fights with the victim over petty issues for the past three years. He had shifted to Inderpuri with his family a few months ago but had his office near the victim's house. The accused had preplanned the murder and he reportedly stayed in close vicinity of the victim throughout the night before committing the crime.

Ishwar used to run a laundry factory in Karol Bagh and stayed with his family in Raigar Pura locality. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Mahesh has two daughters.
