CAN GOVERNMENT FIX ITSELF FOR US

Sir,

I always say our government, day by day if not minute by minute, is creating holes in our system of governance or rather it gives the opposition reason to hate our system.

In South Africa, the African National Congress Government’s mandate is to make sure they show the beautiful part of voting for the ANC. They must make sure they fix everything that can jeopardise their operations. That is why they cannot sleep trying to implement the people’s request day and night.

As I am writing they are introducing new things that can convince someone in their opposition to come and join them. Sir, in our country it is something else. Our government is relaxing instead and this is having negative impacts in the way it is regarded. People are without employment, people are living penurious lives out there and 90 per cent of the youth is in jail because they have got nothing to do.

Statistics say about 63 per cent of this country is without jobs. But our government is busy spending money. Our government is buying BMW X5s to name a few, why? Our politicians are millionaires driving more than decent cars, why?

All the time there are recruitments in our forces you will find young people in numbers trying their luck every year. Thousands of young people are unemployed and our government is doing nothing to reduce this. As I am writing, we do not know what will happen come next year since we lost AGOA and even on that issue it is unclear what our government is doing about it.

Our government must be seen busy trying to defend its system of governance.
The system must not fail to protect its citizens. Asians are all over the country occupying every kind of business, shop, salon, butchery, restaurant, hardware in front of our government. Why? We like our system very much but we are running short of reasons to defend it. Something must be done before we become harsh. There is a lot we need to do.

Ronnie Dlamini, Gege
