Foreign delegates visit Buddhist sites

Foreign delegates from 31 countries visited Buddhist sites and Archeological Museum at Sarnath on Monday before leaving the city. These visitors arrived here on Sunday as a part of the International Buddhist Conclave which began at Bodhgaya (Bihar) on Friday. Approximately 120 international delegates comprising tour operators, media representatives and opinion makers took part in the conclave.

Varanasi: Foreign delegates from 31 countries visited Buddhist sites and Archeological Museum at Sarnath on Monday before leaving the city. These visitors arrived here on Sunday as a part of the International Buddhist Conclave which began at Bodhgaya (Bihar) on Friday. Approximately 120 international delegates comprising tour operators, media representatives and opinion makers took part in the conclave.
After arriving here on Sunday evening they went to Dashashwamedh Ghat to see Ganga Aarti. They also enjoyed a cultural programme organised at a hotel. The Buddhist conclave was organised by the Union ministry of tourism in collaboration with governments of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to showcase and project the Buddhist heritage and pilgrim sites of India.
