No alliance with INLD: Shah

The BJP today launched its election campaign in Haryana with its president Amit Shah addressing rallies in three districts taking on the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress head on.

Making it clear that the BJP will have no post-poll alliance with the INLD or any other regional party, Shah claimed the saffron party would form the next government in Haryana.

An aggressive BJP chief launched an attack on Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala, asking people to give a clear mandate to the BJP.

Shah’s whirlwind trip to the state started from Tohana (Fatehabad) where he sought votes for the state BJP general secretary Subhash Barala. The tone of the BJP president was similar in all three rallies where he sought votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He hit out at the “Haryana Number One” campaign of the Congress saying that Hooda was selectively disclosing facts and withholding data on parameters where the state had slipped. The rally saw a reasonable crowd at the Medical Enclave venue, but the gathering was responsive whenever Shah referred to Modi in his speech.

At Loharu in Bhiwani where he addressed a rally in favour of a former Kiran Choudhry loyalist JP Dalal, Shah said the BJP was hoping to win at least 62 seats in the state. The BJP chief said the Chief Minister was misleading the people on paddy procurement.

Addressing a rally in Ambala in favour of party candidate Aseem Goyal, Shah, who was late by more than three hours, said the BJP would not go for a post-poll alliance. He said there would be no alliance with the Chautalas.
