The general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad that was convened to debate issues concerning farmers and other importantissues went haywire with TRS MP Kadiam Srihari and TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao getting into a wordy duel.

They hurled abuses at each other much to the amazement of members there thus making public their long political rivalry. It all started when Mr. Dayakar Rao and Congress MLA D. S. Redya Naikwere seeking details about the availability of urea to the farmers. Mr. Srihari answered that due to delayed rainfall there was no demand and suddenly after rain, the farmers wanted more urea now. This irked Mr. Dayakar Rao who wanted to know why Mr. Srihari was answering when officials were supposed to do. Mr. Srihari shot back, saying, “You are trying to come into our party and why you are troubling the government?” When Mr Sriharisaid it was the Congress party that was responsible for all thetroubles now, Mr Dayakar Rao sought to know what Mr Srihari did allthe while. There they got abusive against each other.Earlier, the meeting passed resolutions thanking the state governmentfor its decision on loan waiver and sanctioning Health University todistrict.The meeting also passed resolutions demanding that the district bedeclared as drought hit; ensure reopening of closed Rayons factory atMangapet mandal and address urea shortage forthwith.Some of the members belonging to TDP and Congress Mr Madhava Reddy andothers wanted the district administration to make public details aboutthe land distribution to the SCs and STs. “How much land is availableand how many beneficiaries were identified so far,” they sought toknow.
