Jayasurya is making the most of his stay at Karaikudi
Jayasurya is currently shooting for Priyadarshan’s Aamayum Muyalum in Karaikkudi, in Sivagangai district, and the actor tells us that he is enjoying every bit of his stay there.
He says, “From food to architecture, everything about Karaikudi has bowled me over. I love Chettinadu dishes like thalappakettu biriyani and paniyaram, to name a few. One particular dish that tempted me to break all my diet plans is lappa.
I persuaded everyone, including Priyan sir, Nedumudi and Innocent chettan to try the dish. Though they were a bit apprehensive initially, they got hooked soon.”
Jayasurya is making the most of the time spent there. “During the break, I visit temples. I am attracting a lot of attention too, not because I am an actor, but because of my antics. The stone tiles in the temples are so hot owing to the scorching heat that my feet burns and I keep jumping during the pradakshin. But everyone thinks I am performing some kind of ritual,” says the actor with a laugh.
Meanwhile, Jayasurya is in awe of Priyadarshan’s professionalism and says, “It was a dream come true to act in a Priyadarshan film. He is a true professional, and I was a bit nervous during the initial days of the shoot. However, he made me at ease by sharing his memories and experiences during the shoot of his films. I hope my experience working with him will help me to become a better actor and a good human being.”
