Telecom Consulting Group Helps Agents Close the Deal

Telecom Consulting Group (TCG) is one of the largest master agencies in the United States. TCG focuses on hosted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), SIP, metro Ethernet, Internet delivered over coaxial cable, integrated T1s, dynamic T1s, local dial tone, long distance, DSL, Internet T1s, MPLS, disaster recovery, virtual server, and many other cloud solutions.
In an interview at ITEXPO Las Vegas, Robert Hill, a top channel manager for TCG, explained to TMC’s (News - Alert) Jennifer Terentiuk that his company represents nearly every major telecom carrier or cable provider throughout the United States. And they total some 600 agent partners, in large part because of the great way they treat their agent partners.
“We have some very high commission payouts,” Hill said. “We pass … all of the bonus to our agents.” But it does not stop here. They are more “hands-on” than many of the other master agents. “We’re not afraid … to get involved in the sale and help the agent close the sale, if they need that assistance,” Hill said.
During ITEXPO (News - Alert), company officials met with representatives from all different types of IT companies. “Obviously, we look for phone vendors that are going to complement our business,” Hill explained in the interview. But they also look for administrators, IT consultants, among others.
Looking ahead, the company wants to provide some additional products in newer areas. “We have your traditional telecom and cable products, but we’ve been working with many of the cloud service providers, so we’re focusing on the cloud,” Hill said. Other areas of focus include wireless and satellite Internet connectivity, he added.
“We’re trying really to have every telecom product that a small business or a large business would need under one roof,” Hill related during the interview.
