YORK, Pa. - Righthander David Pauley tossed seven solid innings, Ryan Langerhans hit a go-ahead, two-run triple during a four-run fifth inning, and the Sugar Land Skeeters rallied Sunday to beat the York Revolution 5-3 in the winner-take-all Game 5 of their Atlantic League first-round playoff series and advance to the championship series for the first time.

The Skeeters will face the Lancaster Barnstormers, who beat the Somerset Patriots in the other first-round matchup, in the best-of-five championship series. Game 1 is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Constellation Field.

Gordon wins Sprint Cup race

Jeff Gordon won the third race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship for an automatic spot in the 12-driver field that advanced to the next round.

Gordon was in control in the closing laps at Dover International Speedway in Dover, Del., and joined Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano as the three drivers who were guaranteed a berth in the next Chase round with victories.

Kurt Busch, AJ Allmendinger, Greg Biffle and Aric Almirola were eliminated from championship contention. Four more drivers will be eliminated in the next three-race segment that starts next week at Kansas Speedway.

Kasey Kahne was the last driver to make the Chase cut. Kevin Harvick also advanced, along with Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin

The points will reset for the Kansas, Charlotte and Talladega bracket..

Kimetto rewrites marathon record

Dennis Kimetto set a world record by winning the 41st Berlin Marathon in 2 hours, 2 minutes, 57 seconds.

The 30-year-old Kenyan knocked 26 seconds off the record of 2:03:23 set by compatriot Wilson Kipsang in Berlin last year to become the first man to complete a marathon in under 2 hours, 3 minutes.

Murray claims Shenzhen Open

Second-seeded Andy Murray of Britain rallied from a set down to defeat fourth-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain 5-7, 7-6 (9), 6-1 to win the Shenzhen Open in Shenzhen, China.

U.S. women earn top group seed

Diana Taurasi scored 13 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter, and the U.S. women's team beat pesky Serbia 94-74 in the world championship to clinch the top seed in Group D at Istanbul.
