BHOPAL: City police have sent pictures of UP-based criminal Anshu and his accomplices, who fled after opening fire on a UP STF personnel and MP Police cop while they tried to arrest him on Saturday, to neighbouring districts. Accused fled leaving the cops critically injured.
On Sunday cops also declared a cash reward on any information that leads to arrest of accused.
Anshu, and his accomplices pictures were sent to police stations in Sagar, Raisen, Vidisha and Hoshangabad and at entry points in these districts.
Meanwhile, the condition of the two injured cops Sandeep Mishra of UP STF and Raghvendra Pandey of local crime branch still remains critical. Accused had identified UP STF cop Sandeep Mishra as he approached him and opened fire before fleeing.
Police also rounded up a property dealer identified as Soni, who helped accused get a house and a relative of house-owner, besides youths residing on ground floor of the house. It came out during investigations that property dealer was close to the accused and would often meet them. Police also sought inputs on them from their counterparts in UP. Anshu was also carrying a cash reward on him in UP.
When police reached their house in Saket Nagar after the shootout, they entered inside and fired a bullet, but the house was already empty by then, neighbours informed.
Sandeep Mishra of UP STF and Raghvendra Pandey of crime branch of Bhopal both suffered gunshots and were critical in hospital. The two cops along with another crime branch constable Nitesh, who managed to escape, were together at the time of shootout. Home minister Babulal Gaur visited the injured cops on Sunday but refused to take questions from media persons on deteriorating law and order condition in the state.

It was constable Raghvendra, who called additional SP crime and briefed him that he and Mishra were shot at after which the official advised him to rush to a nearby hospital. Raghvendra is the same cop who had nabbed gangster Mukhtar Malik last month.
A case against four accused Anshu, Anup and his wife Puja and Kapil have been registered at Bagh Sewania police station under sections of attempt to murder 307 and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the IPC.
