Srinivasan sets two conditions before his exit, say sources

It is said that Srinivasan wants to appoint Secretary and Treasurer himself before leaving and also wants to be a representative in the ICC.

Chennai: With his departure as the BCCI chief looking imminent, N Srinivasan has set two conditions before stepping aside ahead of the emergency meet in Chennai on Sunday, sources told CNN-IBN.

It is said that Srinivasan wants to appoint Secretary and Treasurer himself before leaving and also wants to be a representative in the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Earlier, sources told CNN-IBN that a compromise formula had been worked out for Srinivasan’s exit. A resolution is likely to be passed in Sunday’s meeting, with Srinivasan stepping aside until the probe in the case related to his son-in law and former Chennai Super Kings boss Gurunath Meiyappan, who was arrested for his involvement in the betting scandal, is completed.

Board members Rajiv Shukla and Anurag Thakur further confirmed the news. “I have heard that Srinivasan has called a working committee meeting tomorrow [at 2.30 pm]. Some announcement is likely,” said Shukla.

Sources also told CNN-IBN that Shashank Manohar was likely to be named as the interim BCCI President.
