The Chennai Police have registered First Information Reports (FIRs) on partymen of the AIADMK and DMK who were involved in a clash at Gopalapuram 2nd Street in the city on Saturday. The clash between the two parties occurred after Jayalalithaa was convicted in the disproportionate assets case in Bangalore.

In the FIR filed at Royapettah Police Station, K.G. Elangovan, a resident of Pallavaram, has accused DMK leaders Karunanidhi and M.K. Stalin along with 500 party members responsible for the clash.

When a senior official was queried about the filing of FIR against the DMK leaders, the police official pointed out that FIRs have been filed on both the party members involved in the clash that happened on Saturday. He said an FIR has been filed against K.G. Elangovan and two others based on the complaint filed by a person named Sridhar.
