The selection process for recruitment of candidates for the post of constable in Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) began at RPF Zonal Training Centre at Khajamalai in the city on Saturday.
Over 13,000 applicants, who had passed the written examination held in 2013, are expected to appear for the physical efficiency test (PET) and physical measurement test (PMT) at the Tiruchi centre.
The tests are being conducted under the supervision of a high-level committee of RPF officers and a Commanding Officer (Small Arms) from the Railway Board, New Delhi.
Upon verification of applications, the candidates were put to PET consisting of 1,600-metre run, high jump, and long jump. The tests would be conducted in batches from March 1 to 11.
Those shortlisted in the PET and PMT would be called for viva voce to be held later.
