Convicted former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and her two aides-turned-fellow-convicts, Sasikalaa and Ilavarasi, were shifted to the jail hospital on Sunday afternoon, after they complained of illness, prison sources said.
During lunch, Sasikalaa is said to have demanded curd rice. After it was served to her, she complained that it was sour.
She later complained of tummy upset and was shifted to Ward No. 23, a facility for women in the jail hospital.
Later, Jayalalithaa, too, was shifted to the ward as she complained of blurring eyesight and increased sugar levels. The AIADMK supremo claimed that only Sasikalaa knew her medical regimen and could administer it, the sources said.Ilavarasi joined them after she too complained of food poisoning.
They were provided with bananas, lemons and papaya from a Hopcoms outlet in the jail.
