Kokrajhar: Four
National Democratic Front of Boroland (Songbijit) militants were killed by a joint team of the
Army and police at Mwinaguri in Kokrajhar district around 8 am on Sunday.
Sources said the joint team of police and the Army’s
2nd Rajput Regiment carried out the operation based on specific inputs. The militants were identified as Mohor, Naisrang, Danswrang and Loharam, all of them active members of
the outfit in Mwinaguri.
An AK-56 rifle and magazine with 20 rounds, two 7.65mm pistols, a 9mm pistol, three grenades and other incriminating documents were recovered.
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief
Hagrama Mohilary said the killing of the four militants was unfortunate. He said NDFB has three factions and of late, there have been several factional killings. He urged the factions to sit for talks for a permanent solution.
