DFO Reasi visits flood hit areas

JAMMU, Sept 28:  Divisional Forest Officer Reasi Dr. Syed Nadeem Hussain along with  ACF Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Range Officer Reasi Rakesh Sharma and other officials of  Forest Department conducted two day  extensive tour of flood hit remote areas of teshil Bhamag.
Team of forest officials not only assessed damage caused by recent rains/floods to the land and property of local villagers of Sermegha, Sujandhar, Satoi, Phagori, Tote, Ladda A&B, Dangakote, Charalakote, Sukhalghati, and Devigarh remote areas but  addressed local villagers.
The team informed the people that Forest Department will provide free of cost timber logs to the people whose houses have been damaged as per the list to be  provided by the Revenue Department. During the public meetings, DFO Reasi said that the aim of the Forest Department was to provide relief at the door steps of affected people. DFO took stock of damages caused to the forest assets including plantation, fencing, foot bridges, nurseries and trees and also assured the public that matter of broken bridal paths had already been taken up with DDC Reasi and again a fresh revised list which included others areas will be submitted soon.
