Doctor booked for outraging modesty of pharmacist
BHANDARA: A doctor has been booked by Bhandara police for outraging the modesty of a lady pharmacist working in his medical store. Though the complaint was registered on September 14, Dr Sanjay Bansod has not been arrested yet, said complainant Sanyukta Raut (name changed), who claims he is now threatening her family with dire consequences if the complaint is not withdrawn.
The complainant has a dispute over a pharmacy run by her but owned by Dr Bansod.
She also claims the doctor used to make obscene gestures when she submitted the daily accounts and cash to him. When she objected, he also allegedly propositioned her. Recently, when Raut’s father-in-law passed away, the doctor did not send someone to collect the pharmacy’s keys from her, but broke the lock and shifted the medicines to his nursing home.
Finally, after many attempts, Raut and her husband were able to lodge a written complaint against Dr Bansod and his wife Dr Sangita Bansod on September 11. The cops registered an FIR on September 14 under section 354 and other sections of IPC, but did not arrest the accused, allegedly due to “pressure from various quarters”.
Raut has demanded Dr Bansod’s immediate arrest, otherwise she has threatened a dharna in front of the collector office.
