Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday congratulated international wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt for winning the gold medal at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, Korea.

Yogeshwar ended India's 28-year-old wait for a wrestling gold medal in Asian Games by emerging champion in men's freestyle 65-kg category at the Dowon Gymnasium.

Yogeshwar, who hails from Haryana, defeated Tajikistan wrestler Zalimkhan Yusupov in 65-kg category in free-style wrestling.

Hooda hoped that Yogeshwar would continue to prove his mettle in coming world events.

Yogeshwar had also brought laurels to the state and nation by wining gold medal in the recently-held Commonwealth Games at Glasgow.
