Los Angeles: Legendary actor-filmmaker Clint Eastwood has sued a furniture company for using his name to market its products.
The company has branded its products as ‘Clint’ and ‘Eastwood’. Eastwood has now sued a company and a website and its domain name owners for allegedly offering for sale entertainment centers, ottomans and chairs named after him, the Hollywood Reporter said. In a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court this week, Eastwood claims Evofurniture and the Inmod site "are continuing to use Eastwood`s name, identity and persona for the purpose of attracting attention to the infringing products...." The furniture company obviously did not seek permission to trade on his name and movies. Eastwood is seeking a permanent injunction against the use of his name, image and other rights of publicity, as well as unspecified damages. PTI
